SAMSUNG TO POWER UP FRIENDS PHONE WITHOUT CABLE
SAMSUNG'S latest flagship phone will come with a neat new feature that lets you share your battery power with friends.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 is tipped to feature reverse wireless charging, allowing you to power up your mate's phone by sacrificing some of your battery's juice.
All you'll need to do is place your friend's phone on the back of your S10, which acts like a portable wireless charger.
Obviously, the feature will only work if your mate's gadget is compatible with Qi wireless charging, though most of today's top end phones are.
The news was leaked by a Samsung insider to rumour site SamMobile.
Dubbed Powershare, the gimmick will feature in all three variants of the S10, which is tipped to go on sale next month.
We pretty much already known how the S10 will shape up thanks to a series of online leaks
Reverse wireless charging was a standout feature in Huawei's latest big budget handset, the Mate 20 Pro, and Powershare works in much the same way.
Simply turn on the feature and place a Qi-compatible device on the back of your S10 to start charging.
It's a fun idea, but many consider reverse charging to be a bit of a gimmick.
Wireless charging delivers very low wattage compared to wired charging, and this is diminished even further when charging phone-to-phone.
