GOOGLE VS HUAWEI HITS MILLIONS OF SMART PHONE USERS

Image
Hundreds of millions of smartphone users will be affected by Google’s decision to sever its Android operating system ties with Chinese handset maker Huawei. The decision, in the midst of a US trade war with China, means that Huawei users will start losing access to Google’s proprietary services such as Gmail and Maps, and be shut out of future upgrades to Android on their phones. The move by the California internet giant on the software front was compounded by news that US chipmakers have stopped supplying Huawei, hitting the hardware of its phones. – Many customers affected – Huawei sold nearly 203 million phones last year, up from 150 million in 2017, according to data tracking firm Gartner, overtaking Apple to threaten Samsung atop the global charts. For the first quarter of 2019, before its recent run-in with President Donald Trump’s administration, Huawei sold 59 million handhelds, IDC calculated. Those users risk losing access to important upgrades to Android r...

SAMSUNG GALAXY S10 CAN WIRELESSLY CHARGE OTHER PHONES-aibytech

Image
Samsung has an awesome new feature called Wireless PowerShare where the Galaxy S10 can wirelessly charge other gadgets like headphones, wireless watch and other phones. It's designed primarily to allow the S10 to charge accessories like the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watch. A new feature in Samsung's Galaxy S10 phones lets you turn your phone into a wireless charging pad, which means you can power up wireless accessories like headphones without plugging them in. It's an awesome experience that I think Apple should add to its new iPhones. Here's how it works: You swipe down from the top of the screen on a new Galaxy S10, enable wireless power share in the menu by tapping an icon, then place the phone face down on a table. Then, you take the gadget you wish to charge and place them on the back of the phone. The accessory will start charging. It's fantastic if you don't have access to a power outlet. Apple should add this sort of support to new iPhones and ...

MICROSOFT UNCOVERS WINDOWS BUG THAT LEFT COMPUTERS OPEN TO CYBER ATTACK-aibytech

Image
Microsoft has uncovered a software bug in old versions of its Windows operating system that could be used to carry out a global-scale cyber-attack. If the bug is discovered by hackers, they could unleash a computer virus similar to the Wannacry attack that crippled the NHS and thousands of other machines in 2017. "Any future malware that exploits this vulnerability could propagate from vulnerable computer to vulnerable computer," said Simon Pope, Microsofts director of incident response, in a blog post. "While we have observed no exploitation of this vulnerability, it is highly likely that malicious actors will write an exploit for this vulnerability and incorporate it into their malware." Microsoft said the bug affects machines running Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 are still supported by Microsoft so, as long as you have automatic updates enabled, you are automatically protected. Win...

WHATSAPP HACK: IS MOBILE ECOSYSTEM SECURE ANYMORE?-aibytech

Image
Facebook-owned WhatsApp’s revelation of a security flaw allowing hackers to inject spyware on smartphones has raised fresh concerns by many, about the security of the mobile ecosystem. Here are five key questions and answers: What happened to WhatsApp? The security hole in the WhatsApp messaging app could enable an attacker to inject malware to gain access to Android or Apple smartphones. WhatsApp patched the flaw this week after being informed that the spyware was being used to track human rights activists and lawyers. Security researchers believe the attackers used the powerful Pegasus spyware from Israel-based NSO Group. According to a recent analysis of the software by the security firm Lookout, Pegasus can “subvert” the device’s security and “steals the victim’s contact list and GPS location, as well as personal, Wi-Fi, and router passwords stored on the device.” The infection could take root with a simple call through WhatsApp. To make matters worse, victims may...

SAMSUNG SUDDENLY RELEASED GALAXY NOTE 10-aibytech

Image
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 has  become an open secret  (and  an exciting one  at that), but Samsung itself has now revealed a potentially fatal flaw. Samsung specialist site  GalaxyClub  has spotted a submission by Samsung to South Korea’s official testing institute, the  KTR , for certification of a new Galaxy Note 10 battery. And it’s far smaller than you would expect. With a rated capacity of just 4170mAh, the battery is just 170 mAh larger than the 4000 mAh battery inside the Galaxy Note 9. But the big news is this battery isn’t just going into a much larger device this year (the Note 10  screen size is 6.75-inches ), but this is the battery for the 5G version. In contrast, the  Galaxy S10 5G  has a 4500 mAh rated battery. How can we tie the KTR-submitted battery to the Galaxy Note 10 5G? It has the product number EB-BN972ABU and Samsung batteries carry the product code of their intended smartphone within them after ‘B’ for b...

HOW TO STOP GOOGLE FROM TRACKING YOU-Aibyteach

Image
If you think Google is a company with no record of you, you need a reality check. Google collects far more information of its users than any other company and that’s largely because its survivability depends on advertising and data collection activities. This information is gathered from all of your communications with the company: through Google search, the use of Google Maps, Google Photos, Google Assistant and a lot more. The company is known for keeping a low-profile of its activities, but at the same time it doesn't keep it a secret either, all thanks to the new privacy laws. If you’re aware of the right ways, you can see what and how much Google knows about you and limit what it uses for advertising purposes. Here's how to see what Google knows and take control of your data. Google Is Tracking Your Every Move! In 2018, Fox News put out an investigative report where they showed that Google is tracking your every move. To prove their point, they used two ide...

Google’s New Chrome Extension Rules Improve Privacy And Security-Aibytech

Image
Google has announced several rules aimed at making Chrome extensions safer and more trustworthy. Many extensions request blanket access to your browsing data, but you’ll soon have the option to white-list the sites they can view and manipulate, or opt to grant an extension access to your current page with a click. That feature is included in Chrome 70, which is scheduled to arrive later this month and includes other privacy-focused updates. As of Monday, developers can no longer submit extensions that include obfuscated code. Google says 70 percent of malicious and policy-violating extensions use such code. More easily accessible code should speed up the review process too. Developers have until January 1st to strip obfuscated code from their extensions and make them compliant with the updated rules. Additionally, there will be a more in-depth review process for extensions that ask you for “powerful permissions,” Google says. The company is also more closely monitoring those...

The breach occurred today, May 7, and was disclosed on the  company's blog  and social media channels. Binance said hackers used various techniques --such as "phishing, viruses and other attacks"-- to gain access to user accounts, including "API keys, 2FA codes, and potentially other info." When the time came today, the hackers initiated a mass withdrawal from these accounts, generating  a massive 7,074 BTC transaction  from Binance's main "hot wallet" to several smaller accounts.
